The Golden Carp Lake - Etang de la Carpe d'Or, is situated just outside of the village of Vieux-Mareuil (24340), in the Périgord Vert region of the Dordogne, France.

For those flying over, the following airports are within a comfortable drive of the lake:

  • Bergerac Airport (Ryanair from Stansted, East Midlands, Bristol or Liverpool) 1H15mn
  • Limoges-Bellegarde Airport (Ryanair from Stansted, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford or Liverpool) 1H20mn
  • Brive-Souillac Airport (Ryanair from London Stansted) 1H40mn
  • Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (Ryanair from Stansted; Easyjet from Luton, Gatwick, Bristol or Liverpool) 1H50mn

For those preferring to drive over from the UK, we are only five and a half short hours away from St Malo, a small price to pay for the trip (and hopefully the fish) of a lifetime!

The quickest and most straight-forward route, from Calais or St Malo, is to head for the city of Angouleme. Once there, simply search for "The Golden Carp Lake" in Google Navigation, and it will bring you straight to the main gate.
